An exceptional antique Georgian era (1714-1836) oval-shaped topaz and seed pearl ring. This elegant piece features a large, honey-hued brown topaz framed with a halo of seed pearls, and set on a simple band in 9ct yellow gold. The topaz is held in a closed back setting. (We're unsure as to whether the gem is foiled - it doesn't have the brightness typical of a foiled gem, or show discolouration which is often present in rings of this kind).
Size: O (US 7.5). Cannot be resized without removing the pearls from the setting.
Stamped for 9ct gold.
Weight (approximate): 5.8g
Measurements (approximate): Head measures 16mm x 15mm. Topaz measures 9mm x 8mm.
Condition: Good, with wear commensurate with age. The gems all appear to be original. The topaz has some minor scratches and wear to the facets. There are some solder marks to the underside of the ring and to one shoulder. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
Cost includes full insurance coverage for loss or damage in transit.
