A sweet Georgian era (1714-1836) pin with a sad sentiment. The navette-shaped face is painted with sepia work of fine quality, depicting a lamb resting under a tree (the Lamb of God) and the initials 'BL'. Lambs were seen as being innocent, and were commonly used in mourning pieces of the time to represent the death of a child or an unmarried woman. This piece is ready to wear as a pin, or could be converted by a jeweller to a pendant or similar.

No stamps, but the gold tests as a minimum of 14ct (likely to be 15ct). The pin is a later addition, and is base metal with gold wash.

Weight: 3.2g

Measurements (approximate): face measures 28mm x 26mm. Total length is 72mm.

Condition: Very good condition with wear commensurate with age. The glass has some minor scratches, nothing particularly noticeable, and is clear and glossy. There are some dents to the gold at the rear of the face. The pin has been added at a later date. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Cost includes full insurance coverage for loss or damage in transit.
