Two exceptional antique gold heart padlock clasps - one large, one small - dating to the turn of the century. The front of each padlock is decorated with detailed ivy leaf engraving, symbolic of loyalty and fidelity (for its clinging growth) and eternal life (for its evergreen foliage). The reverse of each padlock bear assay and maker's marks. Crafted in lustrous 9ct yellow gold, these padlocks are very versatile - they can be worn as pendants, bracelet clasps, or extenders to link chains and charms.
Both padlocks are stamped for 9ct gold, with maker's mark 'W.J.S.'.
Large padlock: Weight (approximate): 2.8g. Measurements (approximate): 26mm x 16mm.
Small padlock: Weight (approximate): 1.3g. Measurements (approximate): 18mm x 12mm.
Condition for both: Very good, with wear commensurate with age. The engraving on both is crisp and clear. The clasps and hinges function well and close securely. The gold has light marks and wear; the smaller padlock has two tiny bumps to the back. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
