A rare and highly sought after antique trombone link Albert chain dating to the Victorian era (1837-1901). Crafted in 9 carat gold with a slightly rosey hue, its features include a floating fob with a T-bar and a working compass. At 15 3/8 inches (39cm) in length, it falls perfectly at the base of the neck notch. The chain fastens with spring ring and lobster clasp closures. A beautiful, unusual and elegant chain that is a must have wardrobe basic.
Compass is fully stamped for 9ct gold, Birmingham, 1892, with 'Payton, Pepper & Co' maker's mark. Purity stamps to all links, T-bar and lobster clasp.

Measurements (approximate): 39cm (15 3/8"). Link width is 5mm.
Condition: Very good, with wear commensurate with age. The gold has light marks and patina, with small dents to two links. The compass is in working order, but has cracked glass on one side. Both clasps are functional. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
