A Victorian era (1837-1901) antique snake ring, which is something of a 'unicorn' for its time in that it is crafted in sterling silver rather than the more ubiquitous gold . Designed so that the coils of its body encircle your finger to form a wide band, the serpent has a minimalist design with simple features (eyes and open mouth). It is a beautiful example of the craze for serpent jewellery that held society in thrall in Victorian times.

Size P (US 8) on the mandrel, but fits slightly smaller due to the width of the band. Resizing is not recommended due to design of the band.

Measurements (approximate): Band measures 9mm at the widest point, tapering to 7.5mm at the rear.
Condition: Very good, with wear commensurate with age. The silver has general light marks and wear. The band is slightly out of round. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
