A sweetly romantic Victorian era (1837-1901) 'mizpah' ring. This rare piece features not just one declaration of love, but two. The first is the double heart motif signifying two lovers or loved ones bound together; the second is the dedication ‘mizpah’, a biblical word calling on the Lord to watch over and protect one’s beloved when apart.
The ring features two applique hearts, each with an old cut diamond held in a star setting to its centre. It is crafted in 18 carat gold with a lovely buttery yellow hue. Perfect for use as a wedding, engagement or anniversary ring, or to wear for its beauty alone.
Fully stamped for 18ct gold, Birmingham, 1892. Maker's mark 'S BRS' (possibly 'Steel Brothers').
Size L ½ (US 6.25). Can be resized within reason (with losses to the stamps and design).
