A stunning Victorian era (1837-1901) enamel mourning ring with forget-me-not design. In Victorian times, forget-me-nots represented remembrance and enduring affection for the departed.

The ring features a large (~0.6ct) blue topaz (most likely not the original stone) held in a belcher setting to a black enamel band with white flowers and scrolling details. It is crafted in 18ct yellow gold, with a personalised engraving reading 'H.R. King, Obt. 16 Aug 1842' inside the shank.

Size: UK S (US 9.5).

Traces of the original stamps are present, but are illegible. The gold tests as a minimum of 18ct.

Weight (approximate): 3.0g

Measurements (approximate): Width of the ring measures 9.5mm at the widest point, tapering to 2mm at the rear of the shank. Topaz measures 5.25mm x 5.5mm and has an estimated weight of 0.62 carats.

Condition: Good, with wear commensurate with age. The topaz, which is most likely not original to the piece, is in excellent condition, with some minor abrasion and a small chip visible under 10x magnification (not visible to the naked eye). The band appears to have been previously resized causing some losses to the original stamps. The enamel has heavy losses. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Cost includes full insurance coverage for loss or damage in transit.
