A beautiful and sentimental antique Victorian era (1837-1901) mourning ring from the Grand period. The ring has a round face set with seven seed pearls in the shape of a flower (for remembrance), bordered in black enamel. The shoulders are also embellished with black enamel in a geometric design, to a yellow gold band. The rear of the ring has a glass compartment which holds what appears to be a piece of fabric (which can be removed).
The ring is fully stamped for 15ct gold, Birmingham, 1873, maker's mark 'M&G'.
