A cute and quirky antique horseshoe brooch dating to the Victorian period (1837-1901). The brooch is crafted in 15ct yellow gold and set with 25 cream-hued seed pearls of graduating size. It is a lovely period piece of excellent quality, and is a symbol of good luck (wear it pointing up to 'catch' the luck, or pointing down to let the luck flow out to its surroundings).
Stamped for 15ct gold. Assay mark is unclear; possibly Edinburgh.
