A beautiful Victorian era (1837-1901) puffy heart padlock. This antique piece features an applique ivy leaf motif to the front of the heart, and a glazed panel holding woven hair to the rear. It is crafted in buttery 14ct yellow gold and is generously sized. This padlock is very versatile - it can be worn as a pendant, a clasp for bracelets, or used as an extender to link chains and charms. The ivy leaf represented 'eternity' in Victorian times; coupled with the heart and the hair, the padlock symbolises eternal love.
The padlock has no stamps but tests as 14ct gold.
