A unique antique telescopic pencil pendant, dating to the late-Victorian era (1837-1901). To the observer, the pendant appears to be a small, simple enameled cylinder, bright blue with polka dot embellishments and 9ct gold hardware. But this pretty piece conceals a more practical purpose - remove the lid to reveal a small pencil, which extends and contracts by telescoping into itself. This unusual piece is sure to be a talking point wherever it is worn, for both its beauty and its originality.

No stamps are present, but the metal tests as 9ct gold.

Weight (approximate): 7.2g

Measurements (approximate): Cylinder measures 28mm x 8mm.

Condition: Very good, with wear commensurate with age. The enamel is in wonderful condition with no major losses or damage, however, one of the small white dots decorating it is missing. The gold has light marks and general wear. The pencil mechanism is sturdy and functions well (lead is not present). The lid closes tightly. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Cost includes full insurance coverage for loss or damage in transit.

Please note, the chain shown in the pictures is not included.
