A stunning antique micromosaic ring, likely of Italian origin, dating to the Victorian era (1837-1901). The ring features an oval-shaped mosaic created from tiny, multicoloured glass tiles (tesserae) depicting a white swan on the water with foliate flourishes. Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, the band and bezel are embellished with design elements including a millegrain border, flower motifs to the shoulders and a split shank. Perfectly sized for the pinky, this well-preserved ring is truly a rare find.
No stamps are present, but the gold tests as 18ct.
Size F (US 3).
Weight (approximate): 2.1g
Measurements: Ring head measures 15mm x 9.5mm.
Condition: Good, with wear commensurate with age. The mosaic is in good condition - two to three small glass tesserae appear to be missing from the outermost edge of the image (red area). There are beaded gold embellishments to the band, one of which is missing, while the other is present but has split from its mount.
