A unique antique telescopic pencil pendant, dating to the Victorian era (1837-1901). To the observer, the pendant appears to be a small flintlock pistol, intricately detailed in 9ct rose gold. But this piece has a more practical purpose - slide the knob beneath the barrel to reveal a small pencil which extends and contracts by telescoping into itself. This unusual piece is sure to be a talking point wherever it is worn, for both its quirkiness and originality.
No stamps are present, but the gold tests as 9ct.
Weight (approximate): 1.5g
Measurements (approximate): 3.5cm x 1.6cm.
Condition: Excellent, with minimal wear commensurate with age. The gold has light marks and general wear. The pencil mechanism is sturdy and functions well (lead is not present). Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
