This heavy double Albert watch chain from the early twentieth century is made from highest quality sterling silver. It features a fancy link design alternating between silver and gilt silver for a two-tone effect, a T-bar fob, and a brightly enameled medallion. The medallion is a Salvation Army 'Order of Long Service' issued for 25 years of duty.
At just under 15" inches in length, the chain sits at the neck notch, while the medallion falls elegantly at the top of the decolletage. It closes with two swivel clasps, allowing versatility should you wish to extend it with clips or brooches.
The clasps and jump ring are stamped with lion passant or '925' for sterling silver. The T-bar is stamped with lion passant for sterling silver, maker's mark 'M&M' (possibly 'Manton & Mole') and date mark 'k'. The medallion is stamped for sterling silver, Birmingham, maker's mark 'B&P' or 'B&F', and date mark 'O' or 'Q'.
